Happy Bridal Shower Sandy!

Lemon Poppy Seed with Royal Icing

Last weekend we headed over to Oahu for Anjell's soon-to-be sister-in-law, Sandy's, bridal shower. (Can we just say we had the most awesome girls, kids free, fun trip!! Bridal shower, hanging with family, SHOPPING!!! Ok, ok, back to the cookies!!)

Sandy's favorite color is purple, all shades
so we ran with it. We decided to do a mixture of
fluted squares and circles with the flower design and
added some dots here and there for extra flair :)

These cookies were used as favors which we wrapped in bags with the prettiest purple ribbon and presented in a nice bowl on the favor table.
Check out the adorable little favor bags, Anjells mom, Dana, made! Speaking of Dana, check out her flick page featured on the right...she's been baking too :)

Here we are (on Oahu!!) at the shower with our sugarHI creations :)

As we were packaging the cookies the night before, we noticed that when you put four of the square cookies together, it creates a flower...love them!!

The shower was a lot of fun and the favors were a hit :)
Congratulations to Sandy and Joel
on their engagement and as mentioned...look out for the wedding cookies coming soon!

Unmentionables................

Well.........when I saw the invitation for my sister-in-law (to be's) bridal shower, it stated that she loved Victoria Secret PINK
Well, what could be better than BUYING Victoria Secret?  I say BAKING it!
And that's exactly what I did!

And what could be better than WEARING Victoria SecretEATING it!
Maybe that's my opinion but it sounds fun right?

And so here they are, never to be seen again, because from the sounds of it,
my sis-in-law LOVED how they tasted!
So much so, she's requested the same recipe for the wedding in a couple of weeks!

STAY TUNED FOR THOSE........................................

Wailea Point

My Dad (Pacific Blue Window Cleaning) asked me to do some cookies for him :)  He wanted to have some cookies for a clients arrival as well as some logo cookies for the office where some of his accounts are. Here's what I came up with!

The orange and blue wave is the logo on the business card that my Dad gave me. I really like the orange and blue combination with the white to really make the wave design stand out. My dad also mentioned some plumerias would be good to add some contrast. These cookies were for the office :)

Here are the cookies that I made for the clients arrival. I am really getting the hang of the hibiscus and pineapples. Great for visitors and locals!

And of course packed in a glass jar with a little ribbon makes for a great gift!

Patterns, patterns everywhere!

Tahitian Vanilla Bean Cookie with Lime Icing

This weekend, I had patterns on the brain I guess. We were headed up country for a picnic with some friends and I decided last minute to do a batch of cookies. Something pretty, but simple and this is what I came up with.

You can click on the pictures to enlarge if you'd like to see them bigger :) I hadn't tried the lime flavoring before and I have to admit it packs quite a punch! I think I have to use less next time or maybe try the Key Lime instead.

My mom bought me an adorable apron a few weeks back! The print is called "Pink Giraffe" :) Of course, as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to make matching cookies....and that I did! These were super fun to make and I look forward to making more giraffe print soon!

Here I am with my matching "Pink Giraffe" apron and Cookies...Thanks Mom!!
(You can also see some of my "cookie" set up that is slowly overtaking my kitchen and dining room..lol!)

Go Packers!!

Yay! Go Packers!!

Ummm...to be completely honest...I really dont care about football at all...lol!! But I know that a large majority of the people were tuned into their televisions on Sunday watching Super Bowl XLV, whether it be for the commercials, for half time or for the game itself.

I, myself, only watched half time and that was good. I figured it'd would be a good time for me to get in some practice and step outside of my comfort zone a little bit so above is what I came up with. Originally, I was going to make both teams and football sayings and a trophy, but these are the best of what I ended up doing. I did do a trophy, but instead of gray it dried pretty much black...not really what I was going for.

Anyway... to all you Green Bay fans out there, congratulations!! For you Steeler fans...sorry!! Maybe next year?!

It's a boy!

Lemon Poppy Seed Roll Out Cookie with Lemon Icing

We did our first baby shower this week :) Our friend, Tiffany asked us if we'd be interested in doing some cookies for a shower she was helping to plan and of course we said "YES!" She laughed cause initially she had asked me while we were chatting on the computer and I got so excited and started typing a ton and she said "Whoa! I got you all excited!" LOL!! Yes, she did! We've been waiting and waiting for a baby shower and a chance to do onesie cookies!

Invitation, Sketch, Sample Cookie and Finished Product

She gave us the invite to go off of as far as colors. We already love the colors, brown and blue and green...whats not to love?! So we sketched a few and this was our favorite. Anjell did an awesome job on the labels...something I was totally afraid to even attempt cause I have no idea how to do that stuff! We learned ALOT on this set. For one, that brown is a REALLY hard color to work with. That certain techniques really are better than others and that its good to always make extras!!

30 Favors Packed and ready for delivery

Pick up was around 2:30pm today and yes, we made the deadline :) We are proud of our finished product. There's nothing like seeing them all packaged, pretty and lined up waiting for delivery...its a great feeling!

Some of the lovely ladies from the shower including mommy-to-be Becky (middle) and
Tiffany (next to her on the right) with some sugarHI creations

The cookies were a hit and Tiffany was kind enough to get a few of the girls together for a picture and send it to me in time for the blog! Thanks for the picture and thanks for allowing us to contribute to the shower!

Congratulations to Becky, Chris and big sister Bella! We all can't wait to meet Baby Garrett!!
