Pink Black and White

I had a few projects to do a few weeks ago and since they were all around the same time, I decided to go with the same colors for each...might as well use the colors I already had mixed!
It started with a request for some "D" and "J" initial cookies that were going to be used as Thank You favors. The requested colors were...yup, you got it! Pink, Black and White!

I had 75 of each initial to work with (150 cookies total) and so wanted to use a few different designs to mix it up a bit. For starters was the "abstract" tiare flower cookie. I say "abstract" because you cant really fit a whole tiare on initial cookies, so I had to kinda work with whatever surface space I had. (My husband actually designed these. He sketched them and I turned them into a cookie :) Thanks hon!) The sisters that wanted the cookies are hardly ever without their signature flower behind their ears, so this was the perfect cookie for them!

Then I decided to go with the brush embroidery technique that we have all come to know and love!

And finally to spice things up a bit...some zebra print!

This was a REALLY fun set to do. I think that it captured a very fun, flirty, feminine feeling.

The ladies were very happy...and as usual that makes it all worth it!

The next set, was some thank you cookies for my mom's doctor, Dr. Lakhani. My mom recently had surgery, (Shes continuing to heal and doing well!) and her doctor did such a great job and was such a sweetheart throughout the whole process so my mom wanted a little something to give to her at her post op appointment. And this is what I came up with....

Dr. Lakhani was very surprised and grateful for the cookies. She even gave my mom a great big hug!!

The final set, was for a friend of mine that had her 3rd child, a precious new baby girl named Aleyna Madison. (How pretty is that name?!) And how perfect was it that I was using pink, black and white this particular week?!
These are the pretty cookies I made for the pretty new little girl...

I've done quite a few onesies over time but these were my first ever carriages and rattles and I must say that these are a lot of fun to make. Can't wait for another chance to make some!

My friend was very excited to receive these and she called me and said that she and her oldest daughter couldnt stop looking at them and that she had taken a ton of pictures of them :) Yay!!

Overall, Id say pink, black and white is one of my favorite colors combos to work with! These were great projects to work on and I look forward to more to come!

Happy Moon

We were asked to create some "Happy Moon" cookies as Thank You's. Where did Happy Moon come from? Well, the little girl we were making these for is named Hau'oli Yue :) "Hau'oli" in Hawaiian is "Happy" and "Yue" in Chinese is "Moon"...so...Happy Moon!

Now I said "some" cookies...ok, more like a lot! We made 300 thank you favors to be exact with 2 cookies in each favor so that mean we baked, piped, flooded and decorated,  600 cookies total!! This was officially our biggest set yet!! And we are happy to say that we survived to tell the story!!

In addition to the cookies, we created some "Mahalo", meaning "Thank You" in Hawaiian, tags to go on each favor. The theme was asian with the colors red, gold and black as you can see.

The cookies were a huge hit! We received a sweet message from
Hau'oli's mom that said...

"AWESOME...happyMOON yummo cookies were big hit for OUR opus & eyes!! we♥edTHEM! MAHALO"

All 300 Happy Moon -Thank You Favors!!

It's a Jungle Out There....

We were recently asked to do some jungle theme cookies including lions, zebras, giraffes and monkeys. How fun! Here is what we came up with...

Aren't they so cute?! We got pretty attached to these and wanted to name each and every one of them!

We did have pictures to go of off so that really helped. (Please excuse the poor quality of the real pictures, I had to take a pic of the pic on my computer screen!)

Starting with the Giraffe...

Second was the lion...

Then the zebra...

And last but not least, the monkey!!

What do you think?!

We had a lot of fun doing these and we really learned a lot about how well we work together!! We hope that the recipients had as much fun eating them as we did creating them!!

School Buses

I recently saw a great post by Loren of The Baking Sheet where she made some great Back to School- School Bus Cookies out of heart shaped cookies. I am so impressed by her creativity and I immediately filed that away in my "cookies to try someday" memory bank! I figured they would be a great gift for my kids bus driver, Kimo, at the end of the school year.

And then...we found out we were moving! We are staying in the same town but moving to a great new house, 2 story, yard, garage, more room, double oven, long counter top and wait...yes! I said DOUBLE OVEN!!! Can you believe it?! I have been dying for one of those!!! I'm SO EXCITED!! When we went to look at the house the first time and I noticed the oven my husband said..."Yup! She's sold!!" LOL..he knows me so well :)

I could go on and on about this awesome house but thats for another time...LOL...back to the cookies!

ANYWAYS...so there I was Monday afternoon, realizing that it was going to be the last week the kids were riding the bus because this week they have Fall Intersession and next week we are moving closer to the school where there is no bus service...so...the cookies needed to be made..NOW!! And thats just what I did...

I decided that hearts, while super adorable, might not be the right fit for Kimo, since he's a guy :) Cristin from  Cristin's Cookies  has recently been making such cute cookies with her rectangle cutter which reminded me that I recently also ordered the same cutter from CopperGifts.com. I ordered them after Callye from Sugarbelle's posted a great blog on Scalloped Round Cookie Cutters. I ordered the cutter she recommended, the Scalloped Edge Oval #4192 and then also ordered the Scalloped  Edge Rectangle #3472. The rectangle was prefect for a bus!

So Thursday afternoon, when the kids arrived home, my oldest daughter and I were there waiting at the bus stop and presented Kimo with his "Thank You for being a Great Bus Driver!" Cookies! He was shocked that the cookies actually looked like a bus and thought they were great!! The next day, Friday, the kids final day on the bus, he gave them some cute school bus book marks as thanks yous and farewells.

The kids will miss Kimo and so will I...everyday for the rest of the school year when I get in my car and drive to school to pick them up!

Going Green!

Going Green! & (white).
Recently I did this set of cookies for a wedding.  My instructions were, a Martha Stewart green and white, clean, simple, half on embossed flower, and packaged however I thought would look best.
I think it was easy for me, because the description fit me perfectly!  Even the green and white, LOVE IT!

Flavor: Lemon Poppyseed

So I went with it, and turns out the person who placed the order wasn't going to be attending the wedding, but ordered them as a gift.
Which worked out perfectly because they were in need of favors.

All packaged and ready for delivery!

I have yet to hear how they went over AT the actual wedding, but I'm hoping they were well received.

Congratulations to the couple!

The Three Little Ladies...

These come with a little bit of a story....  Once upon a time there were 3 lovely ladies, and they happen to live quite a ways away.  These 3 ladies have had a "thing" inspired by nature, that identified them almost as much as their names.

  #1

..... (and may I just say, we go WAY back.  And no matter how far away she may be, she will ALWAYS be one of my nearest & dearest friends, and would HAS jumped on a plane the second I needed her!

Her specialty is.........LADYBUGS!

{I actually kinda got attached to these guys, and had fun "posing" them!}

Special Lady # 2.........

Katie is our daisy girl.  So I had fun by adding a ladybug to her daisy.

And last but definitely not least.......#3

 You guessed it.....  BUTTERFLIES!

{For this one I actually used yellow sanding sugar then decided to do
an overlay of icing on top which really helped to make the cookie look more elegant.}

And now, here they all are together on a big giant leaf!

Well there you go! Now, my question to you is, what's your special something?
Is it a flower, an animal, a bug?
I must say, I've had several over the years.  Hmmmmm, maybe I should make a set of cookies of all of them!

Hope you enjoyed!
